908-10 Spruce Street
A remarkable collection of condos with remarkable history
Built in the 1870s, this historic landmark required a gentle and thoughtful approach. Located in one of the most sought after neighborhoods of Philadelphia, the story is best told by Jacob Roller, whose firm J.Roller Development purchased the property in January of 2017:
"When I purchased 10 condo units at 908-10 Spruce Street, I knew I had to hit the ground running. Although the building had about 30 years worth of deferred maintenance and outdated interiors, it was a great business opportunity, but it had to be quick and efficient.
The uncertain nature of the renovation scope meant I could not use a general contractor, but would have to sub out all the work myself. Of course I didn’t have the time to run to Home Depot all day, nor to research and source the Class A finishes and details I would needed. Enter Mega Supply Pro with a unique value proposition: in addition to taking over all the logistics for basic building supplies such as lumber, drywall, windows etc, they were also able to serve as a design center, knowing the current trends and market for fixtures and finishes. Whereas previously I needed to search hundreds of websites, call vendors, wait for and call shipping logistics call centers, now the entire process was streamlined leading to major cost savings..."
"...For example, after talking to Steven about how I wanted the interiors to feel, he quickly got on board with my vision for the aesthetics and style, and was able to offer me a high quality Bruce hardwood flooring product at a phenomenal price. He also suggested several unique products exclusive to Mega Supply, such as Lustrolite, which we used for backsplashes in kitchens and bathrooms, leading to a great deal of praise in my Buyer feedback. They also suggested and supplied great European appliances that fit my requirements better than anything I saw on the market...."
"...Mega Supply brought trusted specialty installers to the project for custom closets, countertops and SprayStone architectural coating application, all of whom performed quality work for good prices, in addition to accommodating our tight construction schedule. Steven even took the time to help me with site visits to review progress and plan next rounds of materials to “feed the job”.
They saved a remarkable amount of my time with managing project logistics, interior fit-out design, and sourcing, combined with the fact that my mind can rest easy about their execution. Having Mega on the team as a “one-stop-shop” made this project a breeze – complete in record time, already happily occupied, the end result came out better, cheaper and faster than I expected. It’s a pleasure working with them.”
